BIO . SHORT VERSION
KING BLACK ACID is the musical project of Daniel John Riddle. Hailing from Portland Oregon by way of San Francisco, Daniel started playing in hardcore punk bands in the early 80's and by 1989 had relocated to Portland where he played in The Indigo Zeros, Hitting Birth, and many other cutting edge acts. Daniel started using the name King Black Acid to put out four track cassette tapes mixing audio design with cerebral dream-like soundscapes. By 1994 the first KBA lineup took the stage with their debut of what the band called coma-core: Long, slow, spacey songs with no drums and cinematic soundscapes that gained the band a large cult following. Since then the band has put out several records, packed venues all over the northwest, made music for major motion pictures and tv shows, made tv commercials, toured the western US, been inducted into the Oregon Music Hall Of Fame, and continues to make strange and beautiful music to this day.
